This piece is made from fine, white porcelain and is absolutely a labor of love. We sculpt and paint a small porcelain critter by hand, and attach it to a wheel-thrown porcelain dish. We finish the dish with a combination of dipping and brush-on glazes and oxides.
Our pieces are 100% handmade in San Francisco and one of a kind. They’re thrown on a wheel, carefully trimmed, glazed by hand, and subject to the whims of the kiln gods, so although we try our best to make them consistent, small variations in size, weight, and color are expected and embraced. Think sisters, not twins!
