What are tea pets?
Tea pets are small, decorative friends that accompany you during your tea sessions. Give them a little splash of your tea leaf rinse water to nourish them; since they're left unglazed, they'll eventually take on
the aroma and patina of the tea you drink. If you don't drink tea, don't
worry – they're happy to hang out with you on your desk or shelf, too!

These little friends are a labor of love and one-of-a-kind. Each body is first cast with a rustic stoneware slip in a handmade plaster mold, then we handbuild and attach their features, and finally we slip-trail their faces before carefully painting them with underglaze and/or glaze. No two are the same in appearance or personality!
Our pieces are 100% handmade in San Francisco and one of a kind. They’re carefully hand-sculpted and subject to the whims of the kiln gods, so although we try our best to make them consistent, small variations in size, weight, and color are expected and embraced. Think sisters, not twins!
